Joseph Suich, Managing Director and Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs
Joseph Suich joins NY Green Bank as its Managing Director and Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, providing legal advice and counsel regarding operations, transactions, regulatory issues and general corporate affairs. Mr. Suich will manage relationships with law firms providing counsel to NY Green Bank. Mr. Suich’s career spans over 25 years in the global renewables and energy field. Prior to joining NY Green Bank, Mr. Suich served as Chief Compliance Officer for National Grid (Boston, MA); Deputy General Counsel and Director of Investigations and Enforcement for the New York State Department of Public Service (Albany, NY); General Counsel (CEE) for GE Power & Water (Moscow, RF/Prague, CZ); Executive Counsel and Global Chief Compliance Officer or GE Power (Zurich, CH); and Senior Counsel (Transactions) at GE Corporate (Fairfield, CT), serving all GE divisions including GE Capital Energy Financial Services. Mr. Suich also worked as an environmental and energy lawyer at the law firms of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & McCrae (Albany, NY) and Devorsetz, Stinziano, Gilberti, Hientz & Smith (Syracuse, NY). He currently serves as the General Counsel and Assistant Secretary for the national non-profit organization Veterans in Energy, and as an Adjunct Professor of Financial Crimes and Risk Management at Albany Law School. Mr. Suich holds bachelor and graduate degrees from the University of Connecticut, and a law degree from Vermont Law School. Mr. Suich is a former paratrooper with the US Army’s elite 82nd Airborne Division and the 4/325th Airborne Infantry Regiment (NATO) and continues to serve as a veteran advocate.
